Mission Statement

Alamo_about_img1Our mission is to provide our clients with affordable, superior and compassionate in-home care services while enabling them to live with dignity and respect and maintain the level of independence to which they are accustomed.

History

Alamo Companion Services was established in 2007 with the sole purpose of providing personal home care for our retired military officers and their families. It has been a great honor and privilege to serve those who have kept us safe and sacrificed so much for this country and our freedom.

It is our goal to be a source of quality care for ALL of San Antonio. Our caregivers are the heartbeat of our agency. We understand the importance of consistent care and retention of staff.

The choice of Alamo Companion Services to care for your loved one provides peace of mind in the knowledge that you have chosen the best.

Our philosophy

Serving retired military officers since 2007 has established the standard by which Alamo Companion Services has set our ideals including honor, respect, trust, dignity, timeliness and courage. These are the principles and values that Alamo Companion Services brings to our clients.

It is our goal to become a community resource and tool for all of San Antonio.

We want to work together as a team with the client, their family, the doctors, the therapists and anyone else that contributes to the quality of life of our clients and their care.

About our President and Founder, Jonathan Steiner

JS1-01Jonathan Steiner began his healthcare career as a physical therapist assistant, became degreed in 1996 and then went on to complete his master’s degree in physical therapy in San Antonio at the University of Texas Health Science Center in 2000.  Over the next 15 years, Jonathan has practiced the continuum of care with significant experience in almost every type of healthcare setting to include: hospitals, outpatient, acute care, long term care, home health, rehab, assisted living, and independent living.

Jonathan continues to serve as the Director of Rehab Therapy  at the Army Residence Community where he has been since 2001 along with overseeing Alamo Companion Services at the Army Residence Community since 2007.

It was here that Jonathan saw the need for a different type of home care company; one that has quality, trained, reliable, caregivers that carry the mindset of treating people like they would treat their own family.

Jonathan is actively involved with local and national organizations that support active and retired military along with Parkinson’s, Alzheimer’s, Multiple Sclerosis, and local organizations such as Golden K Kiwanis Club at the Army Residence Community and The Health Cell.

In his free time, Jonathan enjoys fishing, bike riding and mostly spending time with his wife and two children. Jonathan is also a licensed HAM radio operator ready to assist in local and state emergencies.
